Pinocchio, un pantin de bois, est le protagoniste du livre Les Aventures de Pinocchio, et est connu pour son nez qui s'allonge lorsqu'il ment. Dans l'histoire originale, il est décrit comme un "coquin", un "petit diable" qui, dès qu'il prend vie, se moque de son créateur et père adoptif, Geppetto.
