El Diablo is a DC Comics character known for being an anti-hero with pyrokinetic abilities. There have been several incarnations of El Diablo over the years, but the most prominent in recent times is Chato Santana. Here is a summary of El Diablo: Origins and Incarnations Lazarus Lane (First Appearance) First Appearance: All-Star Western #2 (1970) Backstory: Lazarus Lane was a banker who was attacked by bandits and left in a coma. He was saved by a Native American shaman who transformed him into El Diablo, an Old West avenger with mystical abilities. Rafael Sandoval First Appearance: El Diablo #1 (1989) Backstory: Rafael Sandoval was a small-town councilman who became the vigilante El Diablo to fight crime and corruption in his community. He had no supernatural powers, but was highly trained in combat. Chato Santana First Appearance: El Diablo Vol. 3 #1 (2008) Backstory: Chato Santana is a former gang member from Los Angeles who acquired pyrokinetic abilities after being injured in a shootout. He can create and control fire at will. After an incident where he lost control of his powers and killed innocent people, he turned himself in to the authorities and was arrested. Abilities Pyrokinesis: Chato Santana's main ability is the ability to create, control, and manipulate fire.
