Beschreibung

With a small bit of printed plastic you can turn your old CD cases into a tower of light. Use the connectors to form either squares or pentagons then stack them as high as you have cases. If you run out you can buy more albums, throw away the CDs and continue stacking. With these decorative lamps, the cases may have more value than the music! Rotate each layer so that the square or pentagon fits in the groove created by the connectors below. In other words, each CD case layer should rest directly on top of the cases in the previous layer, it should not rest on the connectors. This will maintain level and add greatly to stability. You may have to jiggle the layer box to get it to fit in between the connectors. To reduce glare but still let light through I cut recycled office paper to place in each CD case. If your case has a clear insert you can place the paper under that, otherwise you may wish to tape the corners. Remove any black or white inserts since they will completely block the light. The pentagon example uses a multi-color LED strip, easily found on E-bay, run up through the bottom of the lamp. You can secure it to the top in many ways. I used a wooden skewer and a clothespin. The square was stacked up over the base of an old floor lamp and has four candelabra sized LEDs lighting it. I've ordered an LED Sound Sensor to turn the tower into a syncopated spire but it has not arrived yet. Thanks to Galile0 and the CD case doll house for the original inspiration.
