The tool's design has been relatively unchanged since its creation.Simple, elegant, intuitive to use and virtually maintenance free, hand made ice picks/ Self-defense Spike don't only belong to your EDC armory but also in your kitchen.Originally considered an improvised weapon (an object that was not designed to be used as a weapon but can be put to that use and generally used for self-defense), tactical ice picks/ Self-defense Spike have become a niche by itself inside the world of knife making.Since its creation ice picks/ Self-defense Spike designs have become a reference in terms of design and craftsmanship of innovative tactical and everyday carry ice picks/ Self-defense Spike for other knife makers.The effectiveness of an ice pick/ Self-defense Spike is dependent on the weight of the pick/spike and the force applied by the user. Most ice picks/ Self-defense Spike are pointed with a slight bend at the tip. If the tip is bent, the ice shatters upon striking. The bent tip allows for large chunks to break off in comparison to a tip that is straight. To avoid the handle slipping, most ice picks/ Self-defense Spike feature a knob at the end.
