The Z80 microprocessor was launched in 1976 by Zilog and has been one of the most successful microprocessors, due to its use in the Amstrad CPC and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Its derivatives are still used in embedded systems. The Zilog Z80 was designed by Federico Faggin, who had been the chief designer of the Intel 8080, but when its production ended, he left Intel and founded Zilog to develop a processor compatible with the software created for Intel, which helped its popularity. Its name is due to the fact that it could execute 80 more instructions than the Intel 8080, giving a total of 156 instructions. Drawn and ready to print in 3D
