This is a replica of the Sandbot toy (picture included), released back in the early 80's by H&G Toys. It was licensed from the Transformers franchise back in the heyday of the G1 licensing boom. It is a set of beach toys consisting of a pail, shovel, fork and a couple of scoop kind of things. It seems like a normal beach toy set, but the main gimmick here was that they all combined together to form a robot. The robot design was based on Optimus Prime, with a few liberties taken to make it fit the items available. Each of the items were available in two different colors, red or blue, except the pail which was always grey. I was probably a bit random which color item you got when you bought it, but I was lucky enough to get the blue head and red body (which is close to the Optimus Prime color scheme), back when I actually owned one myself. The toy came with some pre-applied stickers, which formed the eyes, the windows, the fender and a Transformers label on the back. I included a few of them that you can print out (like on a label), cut out and apply (if you wish).I took a few liberties with the design myself, considering the smaller size and non-flexible material being used, but I think I got it close enough to be a decent replica. The handle seems to work best when printed flat. I printed the shovel and fork vertical, but feel free to see what works best for you, of course.
