Beschreibung

There are a lot of pot and tray generators out there, from completely manually set dimensions through to fully automated. I wanted something that would generate a model from one main customisable dimension but still allow the shape of the model to be changed through scaling the other dimensions. A changeable shape that is parametrically scalable, not manually set. I definitely had to dust off my old geometry and trigonometry skills. What I ended up with is a classic style rimmed pot and saucer, generated against a defined upper pot diameter. All other dimensions such as lower diameter, pot height, wall thickness, tray dimensions etc. are customisable by changing the percentage or multiple that they're calculated against.Just set the upper pot diameter to set the scale. Set the other parameters to change the shape. You can check the scaled main pot and tray dimensions in the console window in OpenSCAD to make sure you're not going too small somewhere like wall thickness when you scale down, or just to compare dimensions. The classic rim is optional to save filament, or to just go plain. There is an optional preview of the assembled pot and tray so you can check the overall look. If exported this way, they will still render as separate grouped objects in your slicer.Changeable parameters scaled from the set diameter include:pot heightlower diameterwall thicknessrim thicknessrim heightpot hole sizetray heighttray wall thicknessV1.1 released 12 Jul 2026 includes the option to force…
