This is a simple and low cost line follower robot that is easy to build and works reliably. It is based on a Raspberry Pi Pico and uses an IR sensor array to detect and follow a line using a PI controller.The robot is driven by two DC motors, allowing it to steer by adjusting the speed of each wheel. It also includes an ultrasonic sensor for obstacle detection and a physical switch for starting and stopping the system.The line-following behavior is implemented using a PI controller, which ensures smooth and stable tracking of the path.In addition, the robot can connect via WiFi to a simple web interface. This allows manual control, switching between auto and manual modes, and monitoring the robot’s status in real time.All parts are 3D printed and designed for easy assembly. Printing was done with 10–15% infill and tree supports where needed.32 tracks per each side are needed, to create the caterpillar track.The goal of this project was to keep the design simple and affordable while still achieving reliable performance, making it suitable for beginners and small robotics projects.
