Imperial Trireme-Class Jumpship "Aegis" – Inspired by Foundation The Fallen Shield of the Empire The Aegis was a Trireme-class Imperial military jumpship commanded by Kray Dorwin, assigned to investigate the mysterious loss of a communications buoy in the Outer Reach and the sudden silence surrounding the Foundation on Terminus. Upon arrival, the Aegis discovered the Anacreons attacking Terminus City. In an attempt to support the Foundation and restore Imperial authority, Dorwin ordered the ship to descend into the atmosphere and position itself directly above the settlement. But the mission had already become a trap. The Anacreons had deliberately destroyed the communications buoy to lure an Imperial vessel into range of a hidden anti-aircraft cannon concealed beneath spectral camouflage. Moments later, the Aegis was struck and catastrophically brought down over Terminus. Official Imperial records later stated that the Aegis and its crew were lost during a megaflare event that destroyed the planet’s infrastructure. Commander Kray Dorwin survived the crash. A SHIP DESIGNED FOR THE IMPERIAL COLLECTION This model was designed alongside the Rubicon, allowing both vessels to exist as part of the same visual collection and universe.
