With every step, the clanging sound took shape in the increasingly hot air. It was obvious we were headed toward some kind of forge, but the scale of the thing is what we were not expecting. This wasn't a forge, it was a Foundry... A great Clockwork Foundry unlike anything I have ever laid eyes upon and shall never forget. It was only a moment before chaos erupted, but it was all I needed to put more of the pieces together. Piled bodies being stripped by small spider-like automata, then dragged to some sort of Transmutive station, petrifying what remained of the poor souls.
