Bulbizarre is a first-generation Plant and Poison Pokémon. It is one of the starting Pokémon of the Kanto region. Bulbizarre is a small green quadruped with a large head. It carries a bulb on its back. This also serves as a storage organ, since it is reported that in times of drought, it can survive for several days without eating thanks to the energy stored in it. It has dark spots on its body, reminiscent of an amphibian. Its bulb is constantly growing as it absorbs the sun's rays, and when the weight of the bulb becomes too great and prevents Bulbizarre from standing up on its two hind legs, it means that its evolution into a Herbizarre is near.
