In the 1990s, the United States built its simplified version of the Burke class destroyer based on the Ticonderoga class, and other countries also successively built a large number of modern destroyers with unique characteristics. Modern destroyers are equipped with various weapons such as air defense, anti-submarine, and sea defense. They can perform offensive assault tasks in naval fleets, as well as air defense and anti-submarine escort tasks in combat fleets. They can also serve as support troops in landing and anti landing operations, as well as patrol, warning, reconnaissance, maritime blockade, and maritime rescue tasks. With the increase of ship space and the gradual improvement of onboard conditions, the crew of modern destroyers no longer experience hardships with their bravery and courage in simple, narrow, and turbulent cabins like their predecessors. Instead, they are on duty in comfortable enclosed cabins and use automation technology to manipulate their warships.
