This set contains one Female Water Mage and one Male Fire Mage. Edillion is a world rife with Magic in many forms. Academics and engineers have long studied magic and have learnt some secrets to harness its power. It is used in every day life to provide power to machines, provide illumination and all manner of mundane uses. They have also found ways to harness the power of magic in a weaponised form. This is often done using machines to launch magical projectiles or create a magical explosion of sorts. Through the use of Esper stones (crystals containing the souls of creatures) the magic can be elementally attuned to the element of the creature whose soul is contained within. A little salamander may provide enough magical fire energy to power a cooking appliance or a fire lighter, but with a stone containing the soul of a mighty red dragon – you could provide warmth and power cooking facilities for an entire city! Harnessing the souls into the Esper stones takes a special kind of individual to do, requiring them to be present a the time of death of the creature whilst performing an enchantment to contain the soul. This is a skill learned from the ancient elves who were custodians over the Life tree, through whose roots all souls pass once departed. The souls are sometimes recycled to be born anew and other times are lost to the void. those that were beginning to be lost were cultivated by the Elves and stored in crystals until they could be used in a respectful way.
