Description

The description is all in the name. The STLs for download are fixtures/joints that anyone can use to build their own elegant table. The simple table is fully customisable, all you have to do is cut the timber to the dimensions you need. For instance, I started this project because I needed plinths for my end of year Honours exhibition, now they’re used around the house as coffee tables. I hope that people will find the simple table useful, and please share your results with me here or on any of my social media platforms (@InIteration - Instagram, Twitter, Facebook). I love seeing other people enjoying my designs, and it drives me to make more. Instructions The joints are designed to fit with: 25mm wooden dowels as legs 8mm x 30mm wooden strips for beams 6mm MDF sheet for the tabletop Cut wooden strips and dowels to desired lengths, and plug them into the 3D printed joints. The 3D printed parts have small holes on the inside so they can be nailed without splitting the layers. I also found that a little shoe-glue in the ‘table top joints’ was useful for keeping everything secure. Cut the MDF to the correct size, and fit it into the top of the structure. The table is more or less ready form there, but nails through the top of the board into the joints will help keep the table sturdy. The joints have been designed with a 0.5mm tolerance surrounding the dowels and wooden strips, as was bet for my UP! 3D printers. However, different printers may yield different quality results…
