Also known as the pseudo-rhombicuboctahedron or Miller's solid, this convex polyhedron is composed of 8 equilateral triangular faces and 18 square faces — totalling 26 faces, 48 edges, and 24 vertices — where each vertex is surrounded by one triangle and three squares in the configuration (3.4.4.4). This vertex configuration is identical to that of the classical Archimedean rhombicuboctahedron, making the elongated square gyrobicupola one of the most tantalising near-misses in all of polyhedral geometry — a solid that presents all the credentials of an Archimedean solid at every single vertex, yet fails the global symmetry test by the slimmest possible margin.
