Zwaardvis-class Submarine – 1/60 Scale STL Suite Bring a piece of Dutch naval history to life with this highly detailed 1/60 scale model of the Zwaardvis-class submarine. History of the Zwaardvis-class The Dutch Zwaardvis-class was an innovative design based on the American Barbel-class, featuring a "tear-drop" hull for superior underwater performance. The class consisted of two vessels: HNLMS Zwaardvis (S806): In service from 1972 – 1994. HNLMS Tijgerhaai (S807): In service from 1972 – 1995. These submarines were the backbone of the Royal Netherlands Navy's subsurface fleet for decades. This file set includes parts for both the original configuration and the Mid-Life Update (MLU) versions (1988–1990). Two modified versions were also famously sold to Taiwan (Hai Lung-class), which share the same DNA as this model.
