The Cultural Palace was built by the Urban Association of the Romanian Ploughmen from Romanian Reşiţa (established in 1892)as the place for manifestations such as The Romanian Ploughmen Gathering of Songs, Reading and Music of Romanian Reşiţa (established in 1894), a place which was donated to the recently established Cultural Association of the Romanian Ploughmen from Romanian Reşiţa (established in 1932). The building was built 80 years ago, in a period of crisis, following the architectural plans of Victor Vlad, an architect from Lugoj. The building’s architecture, foreign to these places, so-called neo-brancoveneasca, does not make anything else but to mark the locals’ affection towards the Romanian Kingdom to which Transilvania and Banat were united in 1918. Victor Vlad (born in 1889 in Lugoj and died in 1967 in Timisoara)was also the designer of The Ascension of the Lord Orthodox Cathedral in Targu Mures, The Orthodox Church in Mehala, Timisoara, The Orthodox Church in Iosefin, Timisoara and other various churches such as the ones from Jimbolia, Cuptoare, Anina, Arad and so on. In 1929 the plan of the building undergoes some changes made by the architect Constantin Purcariu who was also from Lugoj. The consecration of the Cultural Palace took place in June 29th 1930 (The Holy Day of Saint Peter and Saint Pavel).
