Sauron by Francesco Orrù

Description

Sauron is the titular character and the main antagonist of J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. In the same work, he is identified as the Necromancer mentioned in Tolkien's earlier novel The Hobbit. In Tolkien's The Silmarillion (published posthumously by Tolkien's son Christopher Tolkien), he is also described as the chief lieutenant of the first Dark Lord, Morgoth. Tolkien noted that the "angelic" powers of his constructed myth "were capable of many degrees of error and failing," but by far the worst was "the absolute Satanic rebellion and evil of Morgoth and his satellite Sauron." The sculting process For this Sauron bust I went through the creation of a base mesh in Zbrush. Using Dynamesh I worked on primary and secondary forms. After the detail step I decided to split the bust in three part to make the model almost free support. It was not easy for the shapes of the shoulders. The central part with the head and the base is free support apart from some small supports on the bottom of the helmet. I spent the majority of the time to make clean shapes on the shoulders and helmet using brushes like Trim dynamic, Hpolish and Form soft.
