Thrustmaster TH8A Shifter TPU Upgrade – Realistic Resistance Mod

Upgrade your Thrustmaster TH8A shifter with this precision-designed TPU insert that adds a realistic, car-like resistance to your gear changes. Unlike other resistance mods, this design places zero tension on the TPU when in gear, thanks to precisely angled cutouts for each shift gate, preventing long-term deformation and loosening while maintaining the same consistent feel throughout its lifetime. Designed to use only as much material as necessary, keeping print times short and TPU usage minimal without sacrificing structural integrity. Instructions: Remove the metal plate (held by four 2.5mm hex bolts). Take out the plastic piece underneath (held by two phillips screws) (unplug the thin wire underneath). Fasten the TPU part with two ≤5mm wide zip ties (see pictures). Reassemble The stock flat-head tension adjusting screw can introduce ‘dead’ movement when loosened, mimicking the loose-bushing feel of a well-used real-car shifter — perfect for adding an authentic, lived-in touch to your sim rig :)
