Do you have one old Radio TX you still want to use but the NiMh in place are death? This simple hack will use the balancing connector to get the power from the LiPo3S, the 3D printed connector socket will ensure you connect the balancing plug with the right polarity. To ensure against accidents in reversing the polarity of the LiPo pack is added in the hack a diode. Also with this jig you do not need to buy a specific LiPo o Life matching you radio, because will be reused the old NiMh battery pack cable. In this way you can even reuse old LiPo batteries that fitting the place of your radio but are not more suitable to fly. Jig Application notes. Please proceed only if your radio matching with following notes: - These instructions are made for radios using 8x1.5 NiMh for a total full charge of 12V - The radio charger will be NOT used anymore. Your power charge circuit is dimensioned for NiMH only. Using this jig, the LiPo 3S need to be extracted and charged with a LiPo charger. - Use a LiPo 3S charger you can control the final voltage. The LiPo 3S need to be recharged max at 70% (12,1 to 12.2 V). Also because is not recommend keep the LiPo charged at 100% more than few days as it will fast degrade and will starts to swell.
