In this video, the upgraded lens housing is optimized for Tokina AT-X PRO 16-28mm f2.8 Nikon (G_type) mount lenses. There is a Canon mount version of the 16-28mm f2.8, but I think it won't fit because of the different shape on the back. The optical performance of this lens is very satisfactory, but the lens itself weighs 946 g, which is very heavy. And since it was designed as an AF lens, it was not very convenient for manual operation. Therefore, I wanted to upgrade the lens housing to make this lens suitable for manual operation. There were many difficulties in stably fixing the lens housing if the original shape of the lens was maintained due to the fixed hood structure at the front. In order to stably fix the front and rear of the lens, it is designed in a structure with two symmetrical supporters connecting the front and rear of the lens. In addition, it is designed to increase utilization by attaching various accessories, handles, and tripod plates to the supporter. I wanted to be able to manipulate the aperture manually, but unfortunately, the Nikon G-Type doesn't have a separate aperture ring on the lens. However, there is a coupler device that can adjust the aperture on the rear, so you can expect manual operation of the aperture by using an appropriate adapter (Nikon G to EF or Nikon G to Nex or MFT conversion adapter).
