In my opinion, Tokina AT-X pro 16-28mm f/2.8 lens has a good optical performance and a good price-performance ratio. However, I am not satisfied with the weight of about 1 kg, the front hood shape that makes it difficult to use filters, Tokina's unique toggle-type focus automatic/manual switching method, and the AF noise. Although it was upgraded to the Opera version a few years ago, it seems that there is no significant difference except for some changes in the appearance (the shape of the rubber grip on the control unit). The lens is designed for DSLR FF cameras, and its usability and competitiveness are not as good as they used to be, as more and more lenses that are customized for digital mirrorless cameras with a shorter flange back distance have appeared. I tried to modify/upgrade the lens for video shooting, (including the noise of the autofocus, the short rotation radius of the manual focus operation, and the hood shape that is not suitable for using ND filters) In the previous ver.01, I completely redesigned the overall design and the fixing method of the housing by improving the parts that were lacking. I prefer the non-destructive method of attaching it to the outside while keeping the original housing and parts of the lens. However, the front hood had to be disassembled and removed. Due to the protruding spherical glass in the front, the outer diameter had to be designed to 114mm to prevent vignetting at the ultra-wide angle (16mm) while maintaining the front…
