Description

Herod the Great (37 BC – 4 AD) was a king of Judea, a vassal of Rome, known for his enormous construction work (such as the reconstruction of the Temple in Jerusalem) but also for his paranoid, bloodthirsty behavior. Although the "Massacre of the Infants" is historically disputed by modern sources, he remained in history as a tyrant who feared his power.
