Clip-on nut / Speed nut / Sheet Metal nut Parametric script to generate a 3d printable clip-on nut for attaching to sheet materials with machine screws. To use a heat-set insert set the insert shape to round, size the insert diameter and length for the insert. To make an entirely printable clip size the insert diameter and length for threading and run a tap through it. Or, you might want to slightly under-size this and run a drill through it in order to get the cleanest possible hole before threading. To use a nut set the insert shape and diameter for the nut and the length long enough that the nut will not be likely to fall out.
