Description

The design on the surface of this container is made from a single hexagonal cell that I arranged in a rectangular array and then warped onto the the base container shape. The cell is called a Truchet cell and it is the same basic geometry that I used to make this print: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/game1 The tricky part of this design is finding the set of parameters that wrap the hexagonal array of cells around the base shape with no gaps or seams. That took a but of trial & error, but the end result worked OK. There will be a slightly improved version called TruchetSrf2 posted here soon. THis print completed in a little less than 6 1/4 hours using a print speed of 130 mm/sec and layer height of 0.200 mm.
