Description

In the old days, guests had the custom of bringing small cakes at weddings, they were placed on top of each other representing a good fortune if the bride and groom managed to kiss without the pile of cake falling. During the Middle Ages, the tradition of small cakes was replaced by the tiered cake. The cake topper was first seen in England, in the year 1840 at the wedding of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, when they decided to exchange the traditional ornaments for a replica of them on the cake, symbolizing the love and union of the couple, Then, the cake topper appears. It was only in the 90s that this trend arrived in Brazil and became a tradition at weddings, being a fundamental item in the hosts' cake. Nowadays, the use of the cake topper is not just the privilege of the dear newlyweds, this trend has extended to all types of parties.
