TeslaTap Mini Lock

Description

The TeslaTap Mini is a reliable and compact way to charge your J1772 EV with any Tesla Mobile Connector or Destination Charger. It includes holes to padlock the Tesla side as well as the J1772 side, but this is a bit cumbersome in my opinion. Unfortunately, it's rather necessary to prevent both premature charger theft (annoying) and Tesla handle removal while current is flowing (potentially unsafe). My car already has a locking bolt to keep the J1772 end secure until charging finishes. This sleeve fits over the J1772 end, retaining a small screw in the Tesla end, locking the Tesla handle as well. To use, you will also need one M4x12mm socket head screw: 1) plug in the Tesla handle. 2) Drop the screw in the lock hole 3) slide this sleeve over the J1772 end, holding the screw in place. Your car's locking bolt will keep the entire thing secure until charging is finished, and the J1772 end is free.
