Diffusion panel for Olympus 60mm Macro

Description

This is a compact flash diffuser for use with the Olympus 60mm Macro. It is intended as an ultra-compact diffuser that can pack down and fit into almost any bag, while still giving excellent diffusion. This diffuser had three design goals. • First, it had to be compact so that it could pack into almost any kit. • Second, it had to give good diffusion properties, with a large surface area. • Third, and most importantly, the diffusion panel had to give a nice reflection in the eyes of insects, particularly jumping spiders. This was achieved by having a rounded and tapered panel shape, combined with a gradual thickening of the panel towards the edges so that the light transmission decreased towards the edges of the panel. This design provides a clean and unobtrusive reflection, almost mimicking a reflection of open sky. It will work with any flash, even the little accessory flash that comes with the E-M1 and other cameras. It is designed to work with the Olympus 60mm Macro, but will work with any lens that has the same bayonet pattern. Support for other lenses will be added in the future. Note: Printing transparent PETG is challenging, and occasional black spots may show up in the print. These will not affect the flash diffusion. Please be aware that the panel may show minor marks.
