The Yakovlev Yak-130 NATO reporting name: Mitten is a subsonic, two-seat, advanced jet trainer and light combat aircraftThe aircraft began as the Yak/AEM-130, a joint project by Yakovlev and Aermacchi. Development of the aircraft began in 1991, and it first flew in April 1996. In 2000, the companies ended the partnership, and Yakovlev continued to develop the aircraft as the Yak-130.
