Description

This is a 3D-printable case that can hold one wig head with a wig pinned to it for transport. The internal dimensions when closed are 10" x 10" x 12.5". I use toggle clasp latches to close the box and these are attached to the box walls using M3 screws that fasten to brass inserts in the box walls that have to be installed post-print. When closing the box, I put a rectangle of thick upholstery foam on top of the wig head to take up the space between the top of the wig and the bottom of the top lid wall which helps keep it in place during transport, but this is not pictured.New for V2: Bottom Wall V2 Name Plate allows a name plate to be attached. Print 3x of the Bottom Wall V1 and 1x of the Bottom Wall V2 Name Plate. Base V2 allows rubber feet to be attached to the bottom. Print Base V2 instead of Base V1 if you want to use the rubber feet.New for V2-S: Same as V2 box but scaled down to 95%Cost Breakdown:Using a Bambu H2D, 1 box uses about 1.5 rolls of filament. at about $20 per roll, the cost for filament alone is around $30. Each panel takes about 2 hours to print and the top and bottom panels take about 3 hours each. The smaller parts like the handle and wig head mount can be printed together and take about 5 hours. Total print time is about 27 hours. Box clasps cost about $8, a pack of 100 M3 brass inserts costs about $8, screws using the links in this description come out to about $20, and a roll of 18AWG solid-core wire can cost around $15.Total estimated cost assuming…
