Description

I couldn't find a truss rod cover that fit exactly the profile of the headstock on my guitar build. So I designed the model in Fusion and printed the final build with carbon-filled PETG (Flashforge PETG-CF). I printed the model flat and used a heat gun to gently heat up the end that sits against the curved part of the headstock where it meets the fretboard. After the model was soft enough from the heat, I pressed it against the headboard/neck into perfect shape. The cover is just big enough to cover the truss rod opening without interfering with the lower tuning machines. I sanded the cover starting with 80 grit and progressing up to 400 grit sandpaper to smooth the top and sides before spray painting to match my headstock.
