Among the many interesting fringe science topics the show "Fringe" took on, shapeshifters was one of them. To take on a person's physical form and knowledge was accomplished with a special box that used spiked connections pushed into the roof of the mouth of the person being copied and the shapeshifter (OUCH!!) . This is my recreation of that device including the main box and the spiked connectors. For the cables, I just bought some ribbon cable from Amazon that looked roughly correct and used that. 3D printing the cables seemed like a bad idea. Please be careful with the spiked connectors. They are sharp so don't let anyone play around with them.I also hollowed out the box and provided space/access to add a blue light to backlight the lens if you want to go all out and I split the model in half to give access to the inside. I just provided space not a wiring, battery, ... plan so you may have to do some extra stuff to add a light but it shouldn't be hard. Also you can use a clear filament for the lens and backlight with a blue light source or blue filament with a white light source behind it.To build this, print one of each part: box top (black), box bottom (black), lens(clear or blue) and the top control (silver). Add lights if you want, glue everything together, add the cables and connectors and you are ready for stealth work in the alternate universe. The length of cable shown in the promo picture from the show depicts very short cables, not long enough to span between…
