The Donkey's Story Meeting: His story begins when an old woman who owned him tries to sell him to Lord Farquaad's soldiers as a "talking magical creature." While escaping, he encounters Shrek, a giant living in the swamp, and becomes his closest (and most talkative) friend. Adventures: Along with Shrek, he embarks on a perilous journey to rescue Princess Fiona from the dragon-guarded castle. During this journey, he meets and falls in love with the enormous Dragon guarding Fiona's tower. Family Life: In later films, he marries the Dragon and has six demigod children called "Dronkeys," who can fly and breathe fire.
