Why this Thing?I have two doors to glue up and no clamps to achieve nirvana.I looked at the frame and ran various possibilities till i came up with using a windlass.I have made doors before using a rope windlass and wood cauls to stop the ropesdigging into the frames and marring the crisp edges - never worked as everything shiftsaround and alignment is next to impossible - bummer.I've designed a two part holder and guide unit. The fixed part screws to the rails and the sliding part fits over the stiles andthe stile is restrained with a screw and washer fixed loosely from the fixedpart face through the slider into the stile face. The rope then wraps over a pair of units (2 per each rail position). The windlass is tightened and the stiles compress onto the rails withoutshifting the parts out of alignment and the top smooth guide preventsthe rope from getting damage. My door has 3 rails so i need six sets of these units per door.I will put pics on once the doors are clamped. The prototype parts have been printed and tested andupdated models have been listed 19/06/2026 @ 22;45Print pics will be added too.Addition 25/06/2026 @ 17:30 pmThe first door has been fully glued up using the clamps modelled here. There's a set off 6 glue-up vids available on my channel in the following playlist :-https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLGbJBYZQZE5v2aYY5Ko9glJQCYgPq33i6This went rather well for me - its always a panic when i gluing up - but not this time.Addition 20/06/2026 @ 11:00 amAfter some…
