John Talbot (1384-1453) was an English nobleman and military leader, famous for his role in the Hundred Years' War. Earl of Shrewsbury, he distinguished himself by his courage and his talents as a strategist, leading numerous battles for the King of England. Feared on the battlefield, he was one of the main adversaries of Joan of Arc. He died during the Battle of Castillon in 1453, marking the end of English influence in Aquitaine.
