It belonged to the Tapejaridae family, characterized by large, sail-like crests that may have been used for display or stability during flight. With a wingspan of approximately 4–5 meters, Tapejara was a skilled flyer, likely soaring over prehistoric coastlines and inland lakes. Its curved, toothless beak suggests a varied diet, possibly including fruits, seeds, or fish.
