This is NOT a real firearm, it is a cinematic recreation toy. The Stechkin automatic pistol or APS (Avtomaticheskiy Pistolet Stechkina, Russian: Автоматичеческий Пистолет Стечкина) is a Russian machine pistol with a trigger selector. Adoption and service The Stechkin automatic pistol was originally calibrated for the 7.62 x 25 Tokarev cartridge. Stechkin modified it to employ the new 9 x 18 Makarov cartridge, which was employed by the new Makarov PM pistol, as it was clear that this would be the new standard cartridge for Red Army pistols. In 1951 the Makarov and Stechkin pistols were introduced into service, replacing the old Tokarev TT-33. Unlike the Makarov, the Stechkin could fire in automatic mode, which is selected by the safety lever. In order to fire in short burst or automatic mode, the pistol must be equipped with its metal holster or nock; otherwise, it is difficult to control. The holster is similar in shape and design to that of the Mauser C96, and the pistol can be stored inside the holster when not in use. The additional support of the holster against the shoulder helps control recoil. The Stechkin was intended as an auxiliary weapon for gunners, tankers and pilots. As a pistol, it is quite heavy and when fitted with the holster (which was rarely used), it is quite bulky.
