Nuka-Cola Quartz is a flavor of Nuka-Cola that enjoyed a limited release only in the American Southwest. It remains a rare find in the wasteland. It was advertised as having a "classy" look created by the lack of added food colorings, as well as a distinctive white tint and glow. Developed under the code name "Angry Beaver," non-soluble sugar flakes were used to simulate a quartz-like appearance and to counteract the cavitation issues from previous attempts. The drink's name posed a legal challenge for the Nuka-Cola Corporation, as their competitor Vim! Pop Incorporated was also selling a drink named Vim Quartz, and the two companies took to court over the "Quartz" trademark. Ultimately, Nuka-Cola was successful, but the Great War intervened before Vim Quartz was to be taken off market.
