This is a marble sculpture of Hercules decorating the gardens of the Palace of Versailles. The piece depicts Hercules, made evident with his masculine physique and lion skin tied around his neck. In his left hand he holds a club and in his right a punnet of apples from his eleventh labour in which he had to retieve the fruit from the Hesperides. The apples were guarded by the daughters of Atlas (after he was turned into a mountain) and hundred-headed dragon. This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, through which we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from across the globe for the public to access for free.
