Whiptail hovercraft

Description

Though the BattleMech was the hallmark of the Star League era, the rise of the fusion engine would also lead to a bevy of new combat vehicles that were faster and more powerful than all of those that had been produced in the centuries before. There were of course heavy tanks and weapons carriers but those at the other end of the spectrum could be just as useful and effective. One of these was the Whiptail, named after the designer’s daughter’s favorite sea creature. Besides the normal hovercraft's high speed and low armor, the Whiptail is equipped with a turret fitted with three machineguns. But perhaps its most useful equipment is a vehicle mine dispenser it can use for area denial and delaying actions.
