As the elite protectors of Bamasa's wealthy Council - the governing body of the city of Bamasa - they wield immense influence over the city and its military operations. Leading this garde is Hallan "The Tall," who holds a seat on the Council himself. Though his official role is limited to safeguarding the city and commanding its modest army, Hallan’s power extends far beyond that. In fact, he can override any decision made by the Council, effectively giving him control over the entire city. The Guardians were originally formed to shield the Council from assassins sent by Jerit, a rival city across the Mist Coast of Uum. However, it didn’t take long before these once-loyal soldiers hungered for more. They seized their chance when the armies of Al’nur stood at Bamasa’s gates. Al’nur easily bribed the Guardians, and the 700-strong force turned against their own city. For three days, they looted Bamasa while Al’nur’s army waited outside in patience for the city to fall. On the third day, Hallan opened the gates and welcomed the invaders, marking the year 203 with Bamasa’s downfall and joining the young Wahadian Kingdom of Al'nur.
