Description

Manipulative tool that allows to work the multiplication tables in a visual and playful way. The tool consists of the board, numbered from 0 to 9, of 9 cards, to review the numbers from 1 to 9 of the multiplication tables. When going over the multiplication table we will pass a wool or string through the units we get from the multiplication, i.e.: 20=0, we knot at 0, 21=2, we pass the string through the number 2, 2*2=4, we pass the string through the number 4, and so on. Each number in the table has a figure associated with it (although you will see later that some figures are repeated) To work, I put the number to review, so that they remember the number they are working on, and I tie the string on the zero. Then, they pass the string through the units that we obtain in the multiplications and finally they check that indeed, the resulting figure is what it should be. (The round tiles have the shape on the front and the number on the back). I usually use an hourglass as a supplement to this tool, to keep them from being distracted.
