West Ham United FC Football team lamp (soccer)

Description

This lamp is designed as a spherical lithophane to mimic the shape of a football, but it has a hole at the top to allow light out and make it more of a functional lamp. This version was designed for my brother-in-law, so it has the West Ham United logo on it. I will be designing more, with other team logos, but if you have an obscure team, let me know and I'll be able to create it for you. The base is designed to allowed a regular lamp fitting to be wired through it and there's a channel to hide the wire away and allow the lamp to sit flat. The base can be printed in different colour, perhaps to match the team you support. PLA is fine for this, as long as the light bulb you get doesn't get too hot, or it could warp. Stick to a nice energy efficient bulb. You can feel free to print this in almost any material, but make sure you use some type of white (or cream, pale grey, sepia, warm white, cool white etc) to allow for the light illuminating the design properly. For the sphere, ensure you have 100% infill set. The base needs about 10% infill in whatever pattern you prefer. This design requires supports! Personally I used tree supports. I had them running all around the base to allow for the edge there, as well as one giant tree running through the centre hole inside to support the top. This print takes 12 hours on my Bambu A1 for the football, and 2 hours for the base.
