Description

Pikachu is an electric mouse Pokémon with yellow fur all over its body. It has two brown stripes on its back and a lightning-shaped tail. The part where the tail connects to the body also has brown fur. Pikachu has a small mouth, black eyes, and red electric pouches on its cheeks. Its long ears have black tips. The front paws are short and stout with five toes, while the hind paws have three toes. Pikachu with stronger electrical abilities have softer and more stretchable pouches on their cheeks. The pouches store electric energy, and touching them can produce a tingling sensation. Pikachu runs on all fours at high speeds but often stands on its hind legs while walking. Female Pikachu have heart-shaped tails, while male Pikachu tails lack a notch. Pikachu from different regions may have slight variations in fur texture. In the Kanto region, Pikachu may have tiny sparkles in its fur when exposed to sunlight, while Alolan Pikachu has a glossy coat. In the episode "Pikachu Valley! I See the Sparkling Sea!!," Pikala recognizes Ash's Pikachu from the Kanto region due to these distinctive fur characteristics.
