Pongo, the Awakened Raised in captivity in Letona, Pongo spent the first years of his life in a zoo as no more than an ordinary chimpanzee. His life would be forever changed, however, as heroes from the Dragon Trapper’s Lodge clashed with dangerous monsters in the area. The conflict caused massive damage to his enclosure, and he was unfortunate enough to become trapped in the rubble as the building crumbled around him. Trapped and scared, the chimpanzee searched around him for anything that he could do to escape. In doing so, a large metal object caught his eye, a mystical sword that had formerly been held by one of the trappers, one who must have lost the item in the conflict just outside. As Pongo grasped the sword, he found himself more conscious of his surroundings, and capable of a level of thought that his formerly animalistic mind was never able to muster. The blade spoke to him with a voice of power and authority, asking him if he desired to keep this newfound intelligence, and promising additional power if the offer was accepted.
