This is a jig that allows anyone to produce their own high flow nozzle insert for a 3D printer. Creating a higher flow is based on the standard practice of splitting the plastic feed into separate channels to increase surface area contact which gives more rapid and even heating. The jig is used to create a very short brass insert that fits in the middle of the heater block between the heat break and the nozzle. The jig is designed to hold a M6 brass screw in a fixed position while the end is drilled at the correct angles, The screw head can then be cut off and the stub dressed to length with a file. This only works for standard MK8 type nozzle and not the fine thread version. The length of the insert should be adjusted to ensure the heat break and nozzle can screw in at least 3 full threads, this will depend on the thickness of the hotend heater block. Reducing the number of engaged threads will reduce the mechanical strength of the hot end so care should be taken to not overload the assembly when installing or during operation. The ends of the insert must be flat to connect with the heat break and nozzle to prevent leakage. In testing I achieved a 20% to 30% increased in flow but there is no guarenttes this will work on all printers. Use of this design in your printer is however fully at your own risk and should only be undertaken if you have the relevent skills, experience and equipment etc.
