Could you use it for some epic DnD tabletop set? Sure can. It opens in the mouth and on the side so that if you do use it for a critter, they don't appear to be missing for days on end. For a comfortable house for a critter of size, you're going to want to max this out on your buildplate. Of course, if you're just using it for something else, you don't need to go as big.
