Note: These cups work well, however the oil seems to absorb into the plastic. I have since sealed the cups using a Flex Spray to retain the oil. This is an ant barrier which is designed to fit my 2x4 wood hive stand. I designed this version based off of de37421 ant barrier. The lower part of the ant barrier will hold mineral oil of vegetable oil. All gaps are 1/2". When ants attempt to climb the oil cup they are confronted with a 1/2" wide pool of oil. The ants cannot cross the oil so cannot enter the hive. The cover is designed with two mounting options inline and perpendicular to the 2x4. I have also included slots on each cover to accept a hold down strap. It should be printed in black in order not to attract bees. The central holes are designed to fit a 2 1/2" long deck screw.
