Modern coasters designed to prevent sticking to a glass due to surface tension. Deep grooves collect liquids and prevent them from dripping onto a table, while also ensuring the coasters don't get lifted up with the glass. Grooves on the undersides allow the coasters to stack. Coasters can be flipped over to hold beverages with thin bottom lips, such as soda cans.
