説明

This frog is quite different from most articulated creature toys available on Cults. I have not looked around all that carefully, but I have not noticed anyone else trying to animate creatures much beyond making them articulated. I wanted my frog to do something different. I thought it would be amusing to make an articulated frog that could also stick out its tongue. I could not think of a practical way to construct a purely print-in-place frog whose head had an extending tongue. The head and tongue are printed separately, but otherwise the frog is completely print-in-place with all the supports needed. (Also it is articulated to allow the back legs to move as naturally as possible if you wanted to hop it about ! ) Things look a bit complicated under the frog, because animating the mouth and tongue required two interior levers. An opening underneath the frog provides the necessary space from which the levers can be built up from the print plate. During the printing process, they are attached to the frog to hold them firmly in place. However, after the print is complete, one can use a clipping tool or an Xacto knife to free up the levers. (Videos are provided below with more information on printing and finishing the frog.)
